Pr. Stephenson SB
Pastor Stephenson SB was born on 31 March 1987. He graduated BA English Literature from St. John’s College, Palayamkottai, and later completed MA Eng. Lit from Manonmaniyam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. He was born and brought up in a CSI Christian family. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior in the year of 1997 when he was 10 years old, this is the year his father (Pr. Baskaran Jeyakumar) accepted Jesus as his personal savior. His father Pr. Baskaran Jeyakumar’s salvation was a turning point in the life of Pr. Stephenson SB. He was anointed by the Holy Spirit on 19/02/2000 when he was 12 years old in a Fasting Prayer at Jesus Comes Ministries Church at Venkateswarapuram, and he got immersed baptism on 15/07/2003 when he was 16 years old. The infilling of the Holy Spirit started leading him to do God’s Ministry, and the Lord Jesus Christ gave him a passion for the perishing souls and broken hearts. Not only that, HE gave him a passion for the differently abled and poor people too. Whenever he saw them he cried within his heart. And he always gets into their shoes and pray for them.
Three questions raised from an incident that changed his life and decided to live for poor, oppressed and needy people. There was an AIADMK Political Conference that happened at Chennai in 1996. His father went to that conference as a family. As all are on the way to Chennai by bus, there Pr. Stephenson SB saw a poor old woman met with an accident left alone and no one was helping her, it seemed she was dead. That incident broke his heart and raised the given three questions.
- Why is there aging (முதுமை) in human life?
- Why poverty (ஏழ்மை) prevails in this world?
- Why does death (மரணம்) occur to human / living beings?
From that day onwards the Love of Christ and Holy Spirit started to move in his heart. He says it is Jesus who gave this eye opening and wisdom. From that day on he committed his life for Jesus to live for HIM and live as like HIM.
Mission History of Pr. Stephenson SB
Origin of the Ministry
Pr. Stephenson SB’s father, Pr. Baskaran Jeyakumar, is a Pastor doing ministry in a village called Venkateswarapuram, from the young age onwards God used him to do ministry along with his father, such as Tracts Distribution, helping in Singing and Worshiping, playing instruments, leading Sunday schools, VBS and so on.
Theological Study & Resubmitting to God
After the completion of BA college studies, God led him to study Bible College in Chennai. There he studied G.Th in 2007, and then he was upgraded to M.Div at GFA Tiruvalla, Kerala. During his first year of study he was very pious and spiritual, but in the second year, the books that he read and rational thinking led him to the state that there is no God. In fact he lived there as an atheist during second year, no Bible reading, no prayers, felt dry and empty in his spirit. During his third year of study, there was a Tamil Prayer Fellowship where they used to pray from midnight 11:45 PM to 12:30 AM. He went to the fellowship in compulsion of his fellow friends. Here God anointed him again, he started speaking in tongues and prophesying for 2 hours in a Tamil fellowship prayer by 12:00 Midnight. There he resubmitted my life for HIM to do ministry.
Pr.Stephenson SB’s Ministry Experiences
Church Planting Ministry – Tamil Nadu
Along with his father, he has done street preaching, tract distribution to each and every home in around 100 villages in Tirunelveli & Tenkasi Districts (1997 – 2007). During his G.Th., Studies at Chennai, he was involved in Church Planting Ministry, Gospel Tract Distribution, helping local Pastors in Chennai & Vellore (2007-2008). Every week he as a team used to go to the field for ministry and shared the Gospel.
Leprosy Ministry - West Bengal
He has completed M.Div (ATA) in Gospel for Asia in Kerala. During his first year of study, he was sent to ministry exposure to West Bengal for two months, where God gave him an opportunity to work among the Leprosy affected people. With the help of a local pastor, he learned how to give medical treatments, such as cleaning the wounds, dressing, and so on. (April & May 2009). In order to Show the love of Jesus Christ and express HIS life he touched the leper, ate with them, and lived with them, though the whole world rejected them Jesus never. He says, “even today these experiences are very fresh in my memory. Each and every home we could find leprosy affected people, that place is called “Leprosy Colony”. I keep praying for these people may God graciously heal all of them”.
Missionary - Jammu & Kashmir
Soon after his M.Div (ATA) graduation, he was sent to a Northern India called Jammu & Kashmir as a missionary. He did ministry in Barta, Udhampur District, and shared the love of Jesus Christ to the local people. It was awesome that the way God helped him to share the Gospel, without knowing the language, culture, having food only for two times, starving, claiming four or five mountains and valleys. He thanks the Lord and the local Pastor’s family who took care of him and helped him to do ministry over there.
In the meanwhile Jammu & Kashmir Leadership decided to take him back to Diocesan Office in Jammu city. There he was placed as an Office Administrator and Office Manager leading 13 departments and assisting Diocesan Secretary Rev.Fr.Jagen Mohan Rao (May 2011 to October 2012).
CSI Church – Rayagiri Tamil Nadu
On 18th December 2012, in the Rehoboth Prayer Meeting (CGMM), He was ordained for ministry by Rev.Gnanaraj (Madurai) in the midst of 500+ saints and believers, it was a ministry dedication. God gave him an opportunity to do ministry in CSI Church, Rayagiri, Tenkasi District, in leading Sunday Services and Daily Devotions. God empowered him to revive the church believers who were weak, feeble and discouraged. He encouraged them, prayed for them, helped them, and taught them the Word of God. Through prayers he could see a lot of changes in the life of believers. God graciously healed them, blessed them, and encouraged them. (Nov 2012 – Feb 2013).
VOZ Ministry - Coimbatore
Soon after his marriage with Sis. Leebana, He could do ministry with “Voice of Zion'' in Coimbatore as a National Coordinator. For a year he did ministry, where he visited mission fields, encouraged Pastors, and conducted youth meetings, led worship, taught the Word of God, organized leadership programmes and so on. (Jul 2013 – Jun 2014)
Jesus Comes Ministries – Home Church
Since his father fell sick he went back to support his father in doing ministry “Jesus Comes Ministries” at Venkateswarapuram in Tenkasi District. He did ministry by various means, like Mini Conventions, sharing the love of Christ in the remote villages. Through this there are many who come to know the knowledge of Christ, many are healed, set free from the demons, submitting their life to God’s ministry and so on. By HIS grace and mercy he could run for Jesus, to sing, lead worship, preach, teach the word of God, encourage the weak and help the poor in our district.
Jesus Calls Ministries
It was a turning point that, he got an opportunity to do ministry in Jesus Calls. He was placed as Field Prayer Executive in Surandai Prayer Tower, then later promoted as Prayer Support Executive cum Accountant. It was an eternal plan of God that he was transferred to Karaikudi Prayer Tower as an Incharge. Many times God spoke to him to leave Jesus Calls and come for full time ministry. He was not obeying the will of God. God had spoken him in the vision too, saying that, “Karaikudi is your Mission Field”. He did ministry in Jesus Calls from Oct. 2015 to July. 2020. The prophecy came towards him from 5 different prophets saying that you are called for a different purpose that God has for you, namely Sis.Tamil Selvi – Karaikudi, Pr.Samson – Kottaiyur, Pr.Paul Pravin – Devakottai, Pr.Isaac – Kalayarkoil.
Church Planting Ministry
On 1st June 2020 he met with an accident, while returning from Jesus Calls Prayer Tower to Home at Karaikudi. He was safe, God gave him a new life to live for HIM. He went back to Tirunelveli for further treatment. This incident was a turning point in his ministry. As per the eternal plan of God, he was forced to resign from the Jesus Calls. As an Abraham he as a family came back to Karaikudi to do HIS ministry. Indeed he had no idea what kind of ministry that God kept for him, but by faith we started praying, he just surrendered his life and family to Jesus Christ to do his ministry alone. It was a great blessing that, within 20 days God has given us a place to establish a Church ministry in the name of “ELROI Miracle Ministries” on 07 Sep 2020.
Vetriyur Church: Within two months we happened to close down the Church ministry and vacate the place. It was heartbreaking time for him, he even thought that, if it is the will of God, am I called for his ministry and a lot of questions, this was Saturday. Next day was Sunday there he called the believers and said there is no Sunday Service. In the meantime there was a family came to the Church from Vetriyur around 35 KM away from Karaikudi, he called that family said, no more Sunday service at Karaikudi, we would like to come to visit you to pray for. On Sunday with heavy heart going to Vetriyur with a family, having in mind that it is a House Visit, no Sunday Service, but the eternal plan of God was revealed there, there were 10 people waiting for us to pray, along with that one family, they said to him please conduct a Sunday Service Pastor. On 02 Nov 2020 he conducted a first Sunday Service in this village where there is no churches. We are the first Church in this beautiful village, all the Glory to God.
Karaikudi Church: By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, he got a rented home for church ministry in Karaikudi too. On 07 Dec 2021 with the help of the Lord Jesus he could start a Sunday Service, all the Glory to God. Within a month two churches were established, all the glory to God. Powerfully and miraculously God is using him and his wife and two kids, in Karaikudi to bring many souls to HIS kingdom. We are focusing more on the villages in Sivagangai DT. As per the guidance of the Lord Jesus Christ, with much prayers, this church ministry joined with Good Samaritan Fellowship, Madurai under the leadership of Pr. Joseph Balachandren, in the name of EL Miracle Good Samaritan Church.
